Organic Elderberry Syrup Kit - 3oz - Elderberries Only

Ingredients: Organic Dried Elderberries
 
This kit Makes approximately 3 pints of syrup.
 
Directions: Pour contents of bag into large pot and cover with 6 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and simmer over low heat for 45 minutes, stirring and mashing the berries with a potato masher every 15 minutes to help release juice.
*The mixture consistency will be thin like juice, not thick like syrup.
Let the mixture cool and then strain through a fine-mesh strainer and/or cheesecloth. Squeeze the cloth or press with a spoon to get all the juice.
Compost the pulp.
Return the strained juice to the pot and add 2 cups of honey (or desired amount*) and warm just slightly to blend. Bottle and store in the refrigerator for up to 6months.
 
*If you choose not to add honey or only a small amount, your juice will not last very long. Keep a close eye on it, or freeze in an ice cube tray for convenient single servings.
